An Attempt at Hindcasting the April 22nd, 2011 Tornado at St. Louis' Lambert International Airport Using Experimental Equations (217)

JP Kalb, Global Weather and Climate Center, LLC, Cupertino, CA

On April 22, 2011, an EF-4 tornado touched down in the St. Louis metropolitan area. This tornado caused millions of dollars in damages, including to Concourse C at St. Louis' Lambert International Airport. The tornado caused enough damage at Lambert to close it for the day and to have reduced operations for a few days. This presentation looks into whether the tornado could have been forecasted using a combination of a modified form of Kalb's cloud equation (previously presented in 2016 and 2017) and an experimental scale for forecasting tornadoes.
