Weather Forecast Office
Sacramento serves as the state liason office (SLO) for Northern California. The
California Governor's Office of Emergency Services (CalOES) is a deep core
partner that NWS serves. Several years of drought and flood have strengthened
our partnership such that when the fires erupted in October and then again in
December NWS Sacramento was one of their first calls, when the state operations
center was spun up. This presentation will highlight lesson learned during
these activations ranging from staffing to communicating a consistent message
from multiple NWS forecast offices.
