Climate

Main article: Climate of Seattle

According to the Köppen climate classification system, Seattle has a warm-summer Mediterranean climate (Csb),[98][99][100] while under the Trewartha system, it is labeled as an oceanic climate (Do).[101][102] It has cool, wet winters and mild, relatively dry summers, covering characteristics of both.[103][104] The climate is sometimes characterized as a "modified Mediterranean" climate because it is cooler and wetter than a "true" Mediterranean climate, but shares the characteristic dry summer (which has a strong influence on the region's vegetation).[105]

Temperature extremes are moderated by the adjacent Puget Sound, greater Pacific Ocean, and Lake Washington. Thus extreme heat waves are rare in the Seattle area, as are very cold temperatures (below about 15 °F; −9 °C). The Seattle area is the cloudiest region of the United States, due in part to frequent storms and lows moving in from the adjacent Pacific Ocean. With many more "rain days" than other major American cities, Seattle has a well-earned reputation for frequent rain.[106] In an average year, at least 0.01 inches (0.25 mm) of precipitation falls on 150 days, more than nearly all U.S. cities east of the Rocky Mountains.[107] However, because it often has merely a light drizzle falling from the sky for many days, Seattle actually receives significantly less rainfall (or other precipitation) overall than many other U.S. cities like New York City, Miami, or Houston. Seattle is cloudy 201 days out of the year and partly cloudy 93 days.[108]

As a business owner, I can tell you, that selling your company can be very daunting if you don't know exactly what to do. Who's involved? What needs to be in place? What's my company worth? How do I find a qualified buyer? These questions are just part of the process, and having someone like Devin and his team to walk you through the entire process from A-Z will give you comfort. It did for me. The biggest thing for me was to know that my M&A team had experience at transacting companies like mine in the past. I can't speak for the entire company, but I know for certain that you will find comfort knowing that Devin "walks-the-walk" as he's a serial business owner himself and has personally been there and done that! ~ Nicholas, Lake Tapps WA

Devin was very knowledgeable with the sale of my business, providing me with options and finding ways to support my needs in a very unique sale! I look forward to working closely with Devin and feel comfort knowing I have sound advice that is just a phone call away.

I spoke with Devin from Peterson Acquisitions last week about my business, and he gave me some great pointers on how to maximize my profits in 2023, so I'll be ready to sell in 2024. He was super knowledgeable and honest. Thanks, Devin!

Frequently Asked Questions

On average our brokers close between 6 to 15 transactions each per year.

Due to our extensive efforts, we require an exclusive arrangement with a one year term. We require this to do what it takes to get a deal done; other alternative approaches are just slinging mud at a wall and hoping something sticks. This is NOT our system.

Commission answer is above. In addition, we have a number of additional products and services to support the process of buying and selling a business. Those tend to be “fee for service” in nature, or direct costs for books or courses.

This varies a great deal. We range in business sale prices from $250,000 to $25M or more. When a business is marketed properly the asking price and the sales price are relatively close. There are reasonably precise formulas for estimating what a business can sell for. Our approach relies very heavily on what the bank guidelines are for business loans.
